In the center of Downtown Columbia’s iconic Vista, Blue Marlin is an independently owned restaurant serving southern-style seafood. Excellent reviews on TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Google love the friendly waitstaff and commitment to southern flavor in meals like the Mahi Orleans.
Near the Columbiana Centre Mall in Harbison, Bonefish Grill is a more atmospheric low light seafood restaurant perfect for a date night. Founded by two men from Florida in 2000, Bonefish Grill now has over 200 locations and trains each location on their local seasonal fish. Good reviews on TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Google commend the knowledgeable waitstaff and brunch menu.
Garners Ferry Seafood & More
Near Temple Baptist Church, Garners Ferry Seafood is a locally owned seafood restaurant tucked away in a strip mall off of Garners Ferry Road. Though it’s easy to miss, with almost 5 star ratings on both Yelp and Google, it’s worth looking for. Reviewers praise the freshness, huge portions, and homestyle charm of the place.
Golden Bay Seafood
Across from Seven Oaks Shopping Center, Golden Bay Seafood is a locally owned spot where one can enjoy contemporary seafood dishes like fish tacos. Positive reviews on TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Google call it fast, clean, quick, cheap, and perfectly cooked every time.
Mr. Friendly’s New Southern Cafe
In Columbia’s famous Five Points neighborhood, Mr. Friendly’s is a locally owned and operated place for southern cuisine that actually began as a sandwich and cookie shop in the early 1980’s, but since 1995 it has been an excellent place for seafood! Great reviews on TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Google praise the unique menu and interesting twists of flavor in dishes like the Peach-Mustard Glazed Salmon.
Right across from WG Sanders Middle School, Mr. Seafood is a locally owned and operated seafood restaurant started in 2017. Voted best Garlic Butter Sauce in SC! They also operate a Food Truck – find their daily locations on their Facebook page by clicking on the picture below. Oyster Bar Columbia
In Downtown Columbia near the Vista, Oyster Bar Columbia is a place for cool drinks and fresh oysters. This locally owned spot was started in 2001 and all the oysters are actually shucked in front of customers! Excellent reviews on TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Google enjoy how meals are always fresh and prices are cheap.
Pearlz Oyster Bar
On the corner of Gervais and Park street in Columbia’s Vista neighborhood, Pearlz Oyster Bar is one of 3 in South Carolina but the only one in the Midlands. Happy reviewers on TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Google enjoyed the lively bar, southern style spice in the seafood, and comfortable social atmosphere.
Near the Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center, Private Property is a family-owned restaurant committed to authentic mixes of SC and Louisiana recipes that they call “Cajun and Country”. Satisfied reviews on TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Google adore the clean and classy atmosphere, themed menu, and friendly staff that make the location great for any occasion.
Next to Guitar Center in Harbison, Wild Crab is a New Orleans style seafood restaurant. This place is all about freshness and flavor, leaving the classiness to everyone else.
