Black’s Peaches is located just northwest of York, SC on SC Hwy. 5. Family-owned, the farm has been around for 300 years! It dates back to 1715 when the Blacks arrived from Scotland and settled on this land. Rooted in history and community – 300 years a family farm, 200 years a commercial farm, 100 years a retail farm, and now 25 years an agri-tourism destination.
So what can a visitor expect at Black’s Peaches?
In their retail store, you’ll find peaches in season, but that’s just one component of the farm. They raise vegetables and grow fruit like pumpkins, tomatoes, cantaloupe, zucchini, greens, cabbage, watermelons, squash, blackberries, peppers, muscadines, cucumbers, Christmas trees, and they sell hay. They also partner with area farmers to sell their produce, dairy products, meats, and other goods in the store.
Like to head out into the fields or orchard and pick-your-own? It’s a rewarding experience for families or individuals! Black’s Peaches offers strawberry picking (mid-April – mid-June), peach picking (mid-June – August), tomato picking (August – September), and pumpkin picking (October)! Click here for details.
Come at lunchtime and have your mid-day meal at Black’s Peaches. Their restaurant is open Tuesdays – Saturdays, 11am-2pm.
They serve dishes made with farm-fresh produce and locally raised beef. It’s delicious! Try a burger that’s 100% beef and hand-pattied. And their sides include homemade sweet potato fries, homemade french fries, and homemade onion rings! Click here for the menu and more info.
Visit Black’s Peaches for one of their seasonal events! Celebrate Strawberry Season each spring with a field trip! Bring your school group, church group or club for a special day of pick-your-own strawberries, a hayride, kids will love the farm playground, get an education on bees, and enjoy an ice cream treat!
