Greenville SC has been recognized as a very special place by more than just its devoted locals. Firstly, expect a smile! It was named America’s Most Friendly City by readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine in 2020! Its walkable downtown, tree-lined streets with an abundance of shops, galleries and eateries is a great place to visit for an evening stroll, a weekend or for a lifetime. One of downtown’s big assets is its Liberty Bridge over Falls Park on the Reedy. This amazing structure, located in downtown Greenville’s Historic West End, is the sparkling jewel of the city. The engineering masterpiece is a pedestrian bridge elevated over the cascading falls of the Reedy River. The park has ample room for picnics on blankets, places for kids to play, and strolls along the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The Swamp Rabbit Trail is a walking and bicycling greenway that runs 22-miles between the town of Travelers Rest and Greenville. In addition to plenty of parks, trails and waterways, Greenville also hosts world-class entertainment at the Peace Center, including national touring Broadway shows, well-known names in music and its own Greenville Symphony Orchestra and Carolina Ballet Theatre.
