Hourglass Alpacas

There is something very special happening at Hourglass Alpacas. Most Saturdays, Hourglass opens for free guided tours! The idea is to allow families to feel the peace that comes from enjoying a day outdoors with their children, bonding over a group of sweet alpacas. Tours last about an hour and guests have an opportunity to feed an alpaca! (Although the tours are free, everyone must have a reservation. Please go here for available dates and to make a reservation.)

Matthew and Shannon Stanley
Take a tour and have the opportunity to feed an alpaca!

Matthew and Shannon Stanley of Hourglass Alpacas would like to help others get to know alpacas and help them get alpaca farms going, if they find it’s right for them. They are looking for folks to mentor. They love their farm and the peace it brings them and they’d like to share that peace with others.

Do you yearn for a simpler lifestyle? A lifestyle where you’d be outdoors a lot and where you’d be putting that acre or two to good use? An alpaca operation might be perfect! Matthew and Shannon can introduce you to the herd they’re growing on their farm in McConnells, South Carolina.

Alpacas are South American animals that produce some of the finest wool available in the world, with alpaca wool in high demand at fashion salons from New York to Tokyo.

Tours are open to everyone and are offered on most Saturdays in the late morning and early afternoon – whether you’re interested in owning an alpaca farm or would just like to tour the farm for the absolute fun of it. Everyone must be registered to tour. There is no cost but you must register for a certain time slot. You can check their calendar for availability here.
