Enoree River Winery

Enoree River Vineyards and Winery is located near Newberry South Carolina, a perfect place for growing quality Southeastern grapes. These four types are grown at Enoree River Vineyards + a quick lesson on grapes: Carlos Muscadines are the predominant bronze-colored small-sized grape grown for the production of jelly and wines. Noble Muscadines are medium-sized black grapes that are grown for the production of red wines. Herbemont grapes (originally cultivated in South Carolina in the 1820s) are small to medium in size, pale reddish-brown to almost white in color, have an excellent balance of sugar and acidity, and are intensely flavorful. They are used in the production of pale red to white wines. Enoree River Vineyards and Winery is one of just a handful of producers who make Herbemont wine. Lenoir grapes, also known as Black Spanish grapes, originated in Texas and are a black-skinned grape used to produce musky weighty red wines as well as fortified sweet wines (fortified means it has extra spirit added to increase or fortify its alcohol content).
