Located in Jamestown SC (which is in the Lowcountry and about 70 miles southeast of Sumter), R and R Acres is a small, family-owned apiary and homestead that offers visitors private tours and school/group tours of their beekeeping operations as well as their farm where their goats, pigs, and chickens lead healthy happy lives. They also sell their products at the farm, including raw honey, eggs, meats (which are quality-packed by a USDA facility), and all-natural body products.
The cool thing about their bee products is that the pollen is collected from around the Lowcountry. Their bees forage not only at R and R Acres but also at other local farms. So when you’re putting their honey in your tea or baked goods, you’re adding a little sunshine from the Lowcountry.

A great family adventure is their Private Family Beekeeping and Honey Jar experience! You and your kiddos will spend 2.5 hours learning about beekeeping and you’ll take honey home with you! It’s just $90 and you can schedule yours here.
You may also want to attend the Hey, Honey, It’s a Bee Festival which will be held in North Charleston on April 2, 2022. R and R Acres will be present as well as other local beekeepers, artisans, food and an opportunity to learn more about bees. Free bounce house, guest speakers sharing bee knowledge, a honey-tasting booth, and more.
R and R Acres’ meats include homestead-raised pork and pastured poultry. All the pork is born and raised on their farm. Their eggs are hand-gathered each day.
Stop by and visit their farm store. The store offers its own grown-on-the-farm goodies plus other local finds. You may also order their products online from their website here. They are open Tuesday-Friday 12-6 and Saturdays from 4-6 and by appointment. It’s a good idea to call ahead to be sure a family emergency hasn’t forced a closure (843-300-5747).
